Anti-Drug Awareness Programme - 26.06.2023
“Life
is a Precious Gift, Don't Waste It on Drugs”
An Anti-Drug awareness programme was held on 26th June 2023
at Mother Gnanamma Women's College of Arts and Science, with the special
presence of Inspector N. Muthukumar as the Chief Guest. We were honored to have
Mr. N. Muthukumar, the Inspector of Police, Ariyalur district, and the entire
police team accompany him for this important event. During the programme, he
provided valuable insights into the facts and statistics related to drug abuse,
its causes, effects, and ways to prevent it.
The hashtag of the day was to ‘Educate and enable Youth to Reject
Illicit Drugs’. A remarkable video was presented to the students, emphasizing
the social responsibility of the Department of Police in combating drug abuse.
They taught the students to approach drug abusers with concern, respect, and
empathy.
The Anti-Drug Awareness Rally commenced with the support and
participation of Rev. Sr. Joseph Rajeswari, the secretary of our college,
Inspector N. Muthukumar of Andimadam Police, and Sub-Inspector M. Rajendran.
The college professors actively and enthusiastically joined the students in
this vibrant event, raising awareness by chanting Anti-Drug abuse slogans
through the streets of Varadaranjanpet. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to
all the organizers for their valuable contributions, which played a pivotal
role in making this programme a resounding success.
